I will lift up my eyes to the hills — From whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. |
| A pilgrim faces many dangers on his way to Jerusalem: the Palestinian wilderness road is rugged, with blazing sun in the day, chilling coldness at night, and the threat of robbery... Amid all these difficulties, the psalmist looked upon God the creator of heaven and earth. From day to night, from now till forevermore, whether going out or coming in, he was kept by God from slipping and all kinds of evils. Having accepted the salvation of Jesus Christ, entered the narrow gate and walked on the narrow path, you and I will also encounter many difficulties. God did not promise the sky to be always blue, nor the flowers always fragrant, but God promised to be always with us, accompany us, protect us, and deliver us from all evils. In this heavenly path, we shall also seek God's help, pray that He would sanctify us completely, and preserve our whole spirit, soul and body to be blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Praise God, for He is our ever-present help; praise God, for He is our ever-lasting protection; praise God, for His grace is sufficient for us! |
